AN APPEAL FOR RECONCILIATION
. . . God Got This

The content of this blog has been created by Rey Moore alone for the sole purpose of attempting to reconcile our brothers and sisters in Christ as it relates to One Faith Church of Christ and the Los Angeles Church of Christ. These are my comments and humble opinions and I accept any meaningful outcomes that result in the hope that you take action to address our dilemma.
John 17: 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name- the name you gave me- so that they may be ONE as we are one.
Provided below, on this page is the link to my comment document “An Appeal for Reconciliation”, I ask you to read and post your comments using the section “Leave a REPLY” shown below at the bottom of each response page.
Also provided at the bottom of this page are two reference documents that may provide you biblical scriptures and insights on reconciliation entitled “Reconciliation Scriptures”; and my sermon notes that explore how “God Got This” if we do our part.
Background
The attached document “An Appeal for Reconciliation” is to summarize the results of my five months of research conducted on my own time and expense. I initiated this effort, at the request of some brothers and sisters who felt they didn’t understand or had concerns about, the management of our church on some critical issues. I am no longer Chairman of the Regional Financial Advisory Committee, RFAC, or an Elder in Training due to my own concerns, and I have been willing to simply let the leaders lead and I would follow. Only after intensive prayer and encouragement did I conclude God wanted me to use my 35 years as a management consultant to look into this.
I met/ interviewed over 40 members and leaders at every level of our 9 AM Sector, 11AM, Metro LA Region, Ministers Leadership Council (MLC), Elders, as well as other regions within the Los Angeles Church of Christ to determine what caused the split, and more importantly, how we could reconcile it. I was encouraged to pursue a project by the Metro LA Elder and some leaders and specifically requested by numerous members to get involved.
Why Your Comments Can Start a Reconciliation
Your opinion and the opinions of your brothers and sisters in Christ appear to be one of the last resorts to unclog the stalemate that has happened. We are grateful for the extensive efforts to date of our leadership in LACC and One Faith. This reconciliation will require the joint development of mutually agreed-upon Core Requirements that no one side can dictate alone, but should be developed together. Your responses to the three questions can provide constructive, (not destructive) input for you and our leaders who elect to review this blog.
Please review the attached document “An Appeal for Reconciliation”, provide your name, age, LACC affiliation and post your opinion for review by others. Also, be sure to read opinions posted by your sisters and brothers. All members of One Faith Church of Christ and The Los Angeles International Church of Christ are encouraged to respond.
Specials thanks to our Brother in Christ who volunteered to program this blog now posted on the REMA website. He is the best and all viewers should consider hiring him.
1) Yes
2) Yes. Spirit unity > Organizational unity. I think it’s important to redefine what it means to be unified, both spiritually and organizational. A form of Organizational unity is good, but Spirit unity > Organizational unity. Without Spirit unity, org unity is futile.
3) I’d rather this be done over a period of time. Also, when coming together under one roof, especially for this purpose, people need to be ready to not further hurt each other. I think we need to dedicate time to reconcile some major “Peripheral” issues
1) yes
2) yes, but I am not sure if LACC want’s to Reconcile,is clear after they end all Discussions for lack of time ?????,
3) Changes need to be made, people need to be Humble, and convictions need to be add to the leadership.
1) Yes
2) Yes – By all means, if both parties want to return to the discussion table
3) 2 Thessalonians 3:13 (NIV) And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.

1. Yes, I feel God wants what was once (very recently) a family to be a family once again.
2. Yes, I believe we should be working toward unity & reconciliation (still finding it very bizarre that all of this has transpired).
3. I have been attempting to study out church leadership & I am convicted that there should be a team of invested elders, as well as teachers, evangelists & shepherds, leading the Body of Christ. Humility, prayer & a desire to glorify Jesus would guide discussions toward this type of biblical leadership.
1.Yes
2.Yes, I truly believe that this has gone to far and we all should be able to meet under one roof.
3. We have to pray for one another and let God deal with it.
1. Yes. When we ALL are willing to humble ourselves to his word, will and Spirit. Not our title and percieved authority over other people.
2. Yes. But there needs to be a revisit to the bible and its intended purpose for true obedience and not interpretations of it.
3. Love covers over a multitude of sins. When we we walk in truth and the light and we walk with God. This I believe is the basis and beginning of any reconciliation that will happen. If we all truthfully and lovingly humble ourselves before Christ, remember the resurrection and its power then God will truly be Glorified in this.
1)Yes
2)Yes
3)Too Many people are looking at the law of the bible in this situation instead of using that same law to analyze the people’s hearts and Gods heart, both congregations. I also agree with Rey’s account of needing 3 elders. I have only been a disciple for 5 years, but every church I know (including the one I just moved from) that’s thriving has 3-5 elder couples. This goes past the leaders and involves the whole church to figure out moving foward, as to why is there only 1 elder. A group of diverse and wise elders could help this church repair and thrive using God’s calling in the LA area
1) Yes
2) I am not convinced that LAICC wants to reconcile because the MLC of the LAICC was the party that moved to present ultimatums and also moved to end all discussions, citing their lack of available time.
3) My suggestion is that all believers re-think the idea of starting a new church as a bad, divisive action. There is no biblical basis for that teaching. When someone leaves one church to attend another, maybe they are being led by the Spirit to do so, possibly to fulfill a destiny or design that the Lord has for their lives. Wish them well, they are your brethren.
I hope matures, marrieds, singles, campus, teens and preteens read “Appeal” and post their response.
